Cavaliers, Central Kingston looking to extend
leads in Claro Super and Major Leagues
Leaders Cavaliers can move a step closer to
capturing the Claro KSAFA Super League with a win over
ninth-placed Duhaney Park at the Spring Complex.
Cavaliers defeated Rae Town 2-1 on Wednesday in a
top-of-the-table clash to regain the lead and with a game in
hand on their nearest rivals, a win will go a far way with only
three rounds remaining.
Cavaliers are out front on 43 points, two ahead
of Rae Town and with a game in hand, are odds on favourite to
win the league.
Duhaney Park are two spots and seven points above
the relegation zone and although looking safe should be
motivated enough to give Cavaliers a good fight.
Second placed Rae Town (41) must rebound with a
win over 10th-placed Bull Bay (18) if they still
harbours any thoughts of lifting the Super League crown.
Third-placed Santos (38) has a slim chance of
winning the league and should prove too hot for a Meadhaven
United team struggling in 11th spot on 12 points.
Meanwhile in the Claro Major League, leader
Central Kingston on 36 points could capitalized on a clash
between title chasing Rockfort and Police to extend their lead.
Central Kingston lead second-placed Rockfort by
two points and are six ahead of third-placed Police and with
both teams expecting to cancel each other, a win against
Brown’s Town (19) will prove crucial.
Likewise, Rockfort cannot afford to fall further
behind and this game against Police is a mammoth one with five
games remaining.
Relegation favourites Swallowfield rooted at the
bottom on five points from 15 games including 12 losses, must
beat fifth-placed Greenwich Town (24) and start a winning run if
they are to avoid being relegated. |
