Stumbling Cavaliers looking to rebound
Super League
Cavaliers will be looking to stay one step ahead
of the chasing pack as the Claro KSAFA Super League continues
tomorrow with some crucial games.
Cavalier out front, but barely just on 43 points,
just one ahead of Rae Town 42, Santos 41 and Mountain View 37
all in with a shot of winning the title.
Cavaliers are odds on favourites to lift the
title especially since they have a game in hand against Mountain
View and seem to have the easier passage.
Today they play seventh-placed Real Mona (24) a
team that drew 1-1 with them in the first round and cannot
afford to slip up as they did last week when losing 1-2 to
Duhaney Park.
Cavaliers since their remarkable run to the
Jackie Bell knockout final, they seemed to have hit a snag and
must refocus before it’s too late.
Second-placed Rae Town (42) should utilized their
home advantage and secure a win against fifth-placed JDF (34)
and go top if Cavaliers drop crucial points.
Following today’s game, Rae Town will complete
their fixture against title chasing Santos, therefore they must
beat the JDF tom keep their championship hopes alive.
Meanwhile third-placed Santos (41) face
sixth-placed Constant Spring (28) and like Rae Town, they must
win to stay in touch or could see their title hopes dashed.
Fourth-placed Mountain View (37) has an outside
chance and should prove too hot for a Bull Bay (19) team that
are safe from relegation in 10th spot with nothing to
play for.
Major League
With the game between leaders Central Kingston
(37) and fourth-placed Police Nationals (31) postponed,
second-placed Rockfort (35) could go top with a win over
sixth-placed Liguanea United (24) with four rounds remaining.
Relegation battler Olympic Gardens in 11th
spot on nine points must beat third-placed UWI (32) and start a
winning run if they are to stay in the league.
Olympic are six points behind their closest
rivals Cooreville Gardens (15) who will host Whitfield (20) in a
crucial match. |
