M’View host Rae Town in marquee match-up
In form Mountain View will host Rae Town in the
marquee match-up of the 16th round of the Kingston and St Andrew
Claro Super League this weekend.
Third-placed Mountain View on 28 points, have rattled up 16
goals in their last four games, whipping Constant Spring 4-1,
Meadhaven United 5-1, Maverley 4-0 and Santos 3-2.
With that kind of form, Mountain View are favoured to get the
better of second placed Rae Town (32), but face their stiffest
task to date.
Rae Town themselves have been in good form netting 34 times in
15 games to be the league’s best. But have faltered in their
last two encounters losing 0-4 to Constant Spring and playing to
a tame 0-0 draw with Real Mona.
Based on form, Mountain View should start favourites but Rae
Town has in the armoury in Damion Jackson, the league’s top
scorer with 14 goals.
The hard-kicking and skilful James Durrant, Hughall Lawson,
Kayon Leslie and Orlando Walters, all with three goals, should
prove dangerous.
Mountain View will be looking to last week’s three star general,
Troyland Williams with 11 goals to lead their charge along with
Ricardo Reid (5), Keneil Flowers (2), Jahmiah Pettigrew and Yoan
Blake.
Meanwhile league leaders Cavaliers on 34 points could cash in on
any slip up by the second and third-placed teams and extend
their lead with a win over lowly Meadhaven United.
Despite losing Marvin Stewart to premier league outfit August
Town, Cavaliers should proved too hot to handle for a Meadhaven
team struggling in 11th spot on six points.
The Santos/Bull Bay encounter should be a close and interesting
match-up with the ever-dangerous Fabian Nethersole being the key
for Santos.
In the KSAFA Major League, leader Central Kingston on 26 points
tackle third-placed Rockfort, five points behind and with a game
in hand.
Second-placed Police (25) and fifth-placed
Greenwich Town (17) also clash in a crucial encounter at the
Edward Seaga Stadium.
In the Syd Bartlett League, leader Shortwood
United (19) and fourth-placed Seaview United (18) clash in the
feature match of the round.
Meanwhile second-placed Stony Hill (19) should
brush aside bottom team Red Hills United (3).
Third-placed Allman/Woodford on 19 points should also get the
better of a Meadforest outfit struggling in seventh with eight
points.
